Carrière au cinéma
Chorégraphe à Broadway des célèbres Ziegfeld Follies en 1927, Sammy Lee rejoint Hollywood en 1929, où il s'illustre pendant dix ans en signant les numéros de danse de nombreuses comédies musicales. Son travail lui vaut d'être cité à deux reprises aux Oscars pour King of burlesque (Sidney Lanfield, 1936) et Ali Baba goes to town (David Butler, 1937).
