Formation
Issu d'une famille de comédiens (son père Lewis Arquette, ses frères et soeurs, Rosanna, Patricia, Richmond et Alexis), David Arquette débute au Scond City Theater.
Carrière au cinéma
Après plusieurs apparitions dans des films restés inédits en France, David Arquette incarne le shérif Dewey Riley dans le film d'horreur Scream (Wes Craven, 1996), où il joue en compagnie de son père Lewis Arquette et de son épouse Courtney Cox. Renouant avec ce personnage dans Scream 2 (id., 1997) et Scream 3 (id., 2000), il est également à l'affiche du film de Antonia Bird, Vorace (1999), aux côtés de Robert Carlyle. Vedette de la comédie Spot (John Whitesell, 2000), où il interprète un facteur rusé, David Arquette collabore à Destination Graceland (Demian Lichtenstein, 2001) avec Kurt Russell, Kevin Costner et Courtney Cox.
