Très tôt, Patricia Arquette se destine au métier d'actrice, et elle joue dans son premier film à dix-huit ans.
Carrière au cinéma
Patricia Arquette est une des stars montantes du cinéma américain. D'une sensualité vaporeuse, elle excelle dans le jeu de la séduction et du mystère et use à volonté de ses yeux bleu-vert et de son aptitude à changer d'apparence de film en film. Sa filmographie témoigne d'un certain discernement dans le choix des réalisateurs : Sean Penn (The Indian Runner, 1991), Tony Scott (True Romance, 1993), Tim Burton (Ed Wood, 1994), John Boorman (Beyond Rangoon, 1995), Martin Scorcese (A tombeau ouvert, 1999). Ses performances ambiguës dans Lost Highway (1997) de David Lynch et dans The Hi-Lo Country (1998) de Stephen Frears révèlent une actrice dotée d'un grand pouvoir de fascination.
